ENVIRONMENTAL (GREEN)
Since the publication of Rachel Carlson’s silent spring in 1962 the “green revolution” has been on the map. Over the past five decades the field has dramatically expanded in both need and opportunity. The “green” industry is a great place for people who are passionate about the challenges ahead and have the drive to make positive change for the planet.
Positions range from the research and development of new technologies to the marketing and sales of environmentally conscious brands. A core understanding of the environmental sciences is a solid base and an internship with a relevant company will put you on the right track.
With the diversity of work and positions that have the “green” theme, it’s impossible to say how much money you will make. As the importance of the field and public interest continue to expand, it’s safe to say that this is an emerging industry with tons of opportunity and growth potential.
