What is an internship?
All this buzz but few answers. Everyone’s getting them but no one knows what they are. Interns work for Google and others for Green Peace. Some are unpaid and some make thousands. So what is an Intern?
Well, according to some friends…
Wikipedia – An intern or stagiaire is one who works in a temporary position with an emphasis on on-the-job training rather than merely employment, making it similar to an apprenticeship. Interns are usually college or university students, but they can also be high school students or post graduate adults seeking skills for a new career. Student internships provide opportunities for students to gain experience in their field, determine if they have an interest in a particular career, create a network of contacts, or gain school credit.

Here at Think Intern, we believe an internship is an experience. One of the many that shape who you are and what you will be doing. It is a time to learn outside of the classroom and in the real world. It’s a time to train and understand the workings of an industry. A time to gain contacts and make friends. One more step in building your future. So take the time and use the opportunity to its fullest.
